New business spotlight on Vannucci Foto and Video

The sign says it all at the new downtown site for Vannucci Foto & Video: Back in Billtown Making Memories.

“We wanted it to be part of the town,” store owner Ryan Rafferty said.

On June 2, Vannucci’s opened for business at 8 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. A ribbon-cutting ceremony that evening marked the occasion.

“We moved into the building May 1,” Ryan said.

Vannucci’s has been part of the local business scene since 1946, but in recent years had been located in Loyalsock Township. Now, it’s back downtown where Ryan and his wife, Beth, feel it belongs.

“Putsee (Vannucci) said it was always his dream to move downtown,” she said.

Ryan noted that Vannucci, a noted photographer who died in 2007, launched and owned the store for many years, but even after selling the enterprise never really left it.

“He was a fixture at the store,” Ryan said.

The Rafferty family has had the store since 2000.

The store offers various photography and video services, including restoration and video transferring.

Beth said all customer work is done on site.

“I would like to do quality work that he (Putsee) did,” Ryan said.

Tammy Lacerra, Putsee’s daughter, said her father would be thrilled that the store now is downtown. The store always was a big part of his life, she noted.

“I’m just beside myself,” she said.
