New business spotlight on 505 Restaurant

Dale and Lee Ann Vollman already had one restaurant in Williamsport when they decided to open up a second place.

Since its introduction last fall, the 505 has gained a popular following of customers.

“It’s doing well,” Dale said.

Located at 505 Washington Blvd., the restaurant serves lunches and dinners and a Sunday brunch.

Lunches include sandwiches and salads and dinners feature seafood, pasta, steak, chicken and other dinner entrees.

“We do everything made to order,” Lee Ann said.

Dale said they decided to keep themselves busy with a second restaurant after Joey Prato, longtime owner of Joey’s, approached them about buying his business.

“It was a good opportunity,” Lee Ann said.

The couple, who own Rivals on River Avenue, said opening up the 505 certainly presented its challenges, including making major renovations to the interior.

The main dining room features an L-shaped bar and seats about 120 people.

The back dining room, which also underwent upgrades, seats between 60 and 70.

A spacious banquet room in the rear has serves as a venue for various private occasions.

Boulevard Brews, a six-pack take-out store located next to the restaurant, is part of the business.

The couple noted that weekends have been the busiest time for the restaurant.

Many first-time patrons are making return trips to the 505.

You have to take care of the customers,” Dale said.

The couple gives credit to it managers, their son, Kyrick, and Thomas Powell.

“We open every day at 11 a.m.,” Dale said.

The phone number is 570-322-9619.

The business can be found on Facebook.
