regional affairs director

Tracie Witter, of Montoursville, will serve as PPL Electric Utilities’ regional affairs director in the Williamsport area and surrounding region, PPL announced recently according to a news release.

Witter will be PPL’s community representative in Clinton, Columbia, Juniata, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder and Union counties. She will work with area leaders, elected officials, nonprofit groups and others as part of PPL’s commitment to play a key role in communities where it does business.

She started July 31.

“We’re pleased to welcome Tracie to our team,” said Paul Wirth, director of corporate communications for PPL Electric Utilities. “Her background in community affairs and communications will be an asset as PPL works to serve this important part of our 29-county service territory.”

Before joining PPL, Witter most recently served as director of corporate communications for UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport, where she oversaw internal and external communications, media relations, public affairs and government relations, the news release said. Her team’s communications work was honored with several health care industry awards.

She also has worked as director of community relations and communications specialist at Susquehanna Health System in Williamsport; marketing manager at the William-sport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce; and admissions counselor at Lycoming College.

Witter earned a bachelor’s degree cum laude from Dickinson College and a master’s degree summa cum laude from Seton Hall University. She also has completed coursework in the master’s of business administration program at St. Francis University.

Witter replaces Teri MacBride, who recently retired.

PPL Electric Utilities, the news release said, provides electric delivery service to more than 1.4 million homes and businesses in Pennsylvania and ranks among the best utility companies in the country for customer service and reliability. PPL Electric Utilities is a major employer in the communities it serves. It is a subsidiary of PPL Corp.
