New business spotlight on Bearfoot Gymnastics

Courtney Pearson is a business owner living the dream.

Bearfoot Gymnastics allows her to be an entrepreneur while also embracing her passion of gymnastics.

The spacious gym at 2925 W. Fourth St., Williamsport offers classes for kids of pre-school age to 18.

“It’s recreational and competitive gymnastics,” she said.

A competitive gymnast who turned to gymnastics instruction after suffering an injury, she has about 200 students in her different classes.

“I just ended up loving it,” she said of her switch to teaching.

She felt Williamsport was in need of a gymnastics center for youths, and since opening her facility in August, she hasn’t looked back.

“Word of mouth has been my best friend,” she said. “Parents have thanked me for this.”

She sees gymnastics as a great way for kids to help their flexibility and strength and also to help prepare for other sports.

Her students come from throughout the region.

“We are open five nights a week for classes,” she said.

She said the best part of the business is just working with the kids.

“We have some really good talent here,” she said. “All of our equipment is state of the art.”

The facility includes a pre-school area for the smaller children.

Classes are held five days a week.

An open gym is held Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30.

Special events include parents nights out.
