Shop offers man’s creations in stained glass, plus lessons
Keith Whitesel has been fascinated by stained glass since he was a kid.
Earlier this year, he opened up his own business featuring some of his own stained glass creations for sale.
Whitesel also teaches classes on the art out of the studio and is now sharing his love of it with others.
His business, which he operates with his wife, Amanda, is located at the rear of 519 Pine St., Williamsport.
“I do custom work for people,” he said. “I also do small repairs.”
For Whitesel, stained glass is simply a passion.
“I’ve never found a piece of glass I didn’t like,” he said.
For many years, Whitesel taught electronics at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
It was during his professional career that he found working with stained glass in his spare moments to be therapeutic.
“I have been doing it for 21 years,” he said. “I have been addicted to this since I started doing it.”
He decided to open up his studio to fill a void for stained glass in the area.
His business includes a main showroom or sales area where he displays some of his work.
He is hoping to schedule groups, such as boys or girls nights out, for people to work with stained glass in his studio.
“We are open to parties,” he said.
Whitesel feels there is no limit to the creative process and what people can do with stained glass.
His business can be found on Facebook and at www.WhiteselStainedGlass.com.
