Montgomery FBLA members to attend state conference

Two members of the Montgomery High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America and the chapter adviser, Betty Marr, will attend the 2013 Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference April 15 through 17 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.

During the regional competition held in January at Penn College, Hannah Umpstead placed in business communication while Cecelia Getgen garnered a spot in introduction to technology concepts. In addition to competing in their events, the members will be attending several workshops during this three-day event focusing on business as well as leadership qualities.

At the awards ceremony, the American Trauma Society, the recipient of this year’s state project, will be given a monetary contribution to be used toward the foundation’s programs in Pennsylvania. The Montgomery Area High School chapter has been actively raising funds for this cause.

The Future Business Leaders of America is a national career and technical student organization whose mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. The 30 members in the Montgomery Area High School chapter are a part of a growing Pennsylvania membership.
