Local student presents research at conference
SELINSGROVE – Brianna Soars, Williamsport, was one of 18 students from Susquehanna University who recently presented research at the 2013 annual Eastern Psychological Association Meeting in New York City.
Soars presented a poster entitled “The Effect Of Personality on Sports Injury Recovery Time.” In keeping with Susquehanna’s tradition of faculty-student collaboration, Michael D. Smith, department head and associate professor of psychology, served as a supervisor and adviser during the research process.
Established in 1896, the Eastern Psychological Association is committed to advancing the profession of psychology through the dissemination of information in the field. At the annual meeting, professionals and students present research in a variety of fields across the discipline.
Soars, a senior psychology and religion major, is a 2009 graduate of Loyalsock Township High School and the daughter of Blair and Jean Soars.
