SBDC hosting social media summer series
LEWISBURG – The Bucknell University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is hosting a social media summer series through August.
Social media consultant Daniel Gasteiger will lead the (bring your own) brown bag luncheons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SBDC Business Education Center, located in the DeWitt Building at 416 Market St.
An independent consultant and freelance writer who has worked in manufacturing, nonprofit, government and service sectors, Gasteiger teaches social marketing strategies and search engine optimization (SEO) to help businesses benefit from the online economy. The author or co-author of six books, he has written for popular computing magazines, corporate and user-supported newsletters, and a variety of websites. He has spoken about the importance of Internet marketing in today’s business world at trade shows, corporate offices, economic development organizations, civic groups. Gasteiger is especially concerned for central Pennsylvania businesses that have been slow to recognize the dramatic shift in behavior caused by the Internet and mobile technologies.

July 25, WordPress with Pizzazz, with free blog designs and a discussion of using plugins and widgets as well as basic HTML.
Aug. 22, Build Business with Twitter, a discussion of why Twitter matters as well as Twitter fundamentals including Tweet, Retweet, Message, Follow and hashtags.
Aug. 28, Build your Business with Facebook, an examination of why Facebook matters as well as Facebook fundamentals including profiles, news streams, status updates and comments, how to separate business from personal with pages and how to organize groups.
