Bloomsburg High School sporting gold socks for pediatric cancer awareness

BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg High School varsity football team will wear gold socks during their Sept. 27 game against Montgomery High School.

The gold socks will represent the school’s commitment to Pediatric Cancer Awareness month, held annually in September.

Representatives from Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital ThinkBIG Pediatric Cancer Fund will be on hand during the game to answer questions and raise awareness of the fund that helps local pediatric cancer patients.

ThinkBIG is a program that aims to offset some stress for pediatric oncology families by providing financial support for unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. Donations and proceeds go directly to help families treated at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital and throughout the entire Geisinger network.
