Misericordia hosts more than 1,200 at opening day picnic

DALLAS, Pa. – Misericordia University hosted more than 1,200 students, staff and faculty at an opening day picnic on the lawn of the Banks Student Center recently.

The event was held to celebrate the first day of classes for the largest enrollment inthe 89-year history of the institution of higher education, a record 3,058 undergraduate and graduate students in full- and part-time academic programs.

An abbreviated class schedule allowed the students to mix and mingle with faculty and staff at the campus where caring and personal attention are a hallmark of a Sisters of Mercy education.
