MU Career Center unveils new resource for students and alumni

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University Career Center, in a collaborative effort with career centers at all Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) universities, has launched Mountie Career Connection, a new online career resource and recruiting system for students, alumni and employers.

Over the past several months, all PASSHE Career Centers have worked diligently to provide a seamless transition from the former recruiting system.

With the new system, students and alumni can build a personal profile, apply for and manage jobs and internships, peruse an employer database, sign-up for on-campus recruiting and events and conduct career exploration and job market research.

The program also allows students to designate favorite employers and schedule on-campus interviews. Participants can also gain access to more job postings via partnerships with major professional employer networks.

Services for employers have also been expanded including in-depth employer profiles, on-campus interviewing schedules, and targeted resume books.

“There are a number of reasons we decided to make the transition to a new system, but the primary reason is that the new Mountie Career Connection will allow students and alumni to access events, search job and internship opportunities, and register for recruitment activities all through one interface,” Nichole Lefelhoc, Career Center associate director, said. “The system also allows employers to get their opportunities directly in front of Mansfield University students and alumni.”

The new system can be accessed free of charge by visiting career.mans field.edu. Questions may be directed to the Career Center at careers@mans field.edu or 662-4133.
