Penn College names director of residence life, judicial affairs
Jonathan D. Wescott has been appointed director of residence life and judicial affairs at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Wescott, who began his duties Aug. 5, comes to Penn College from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where he served as associate vice president for student affairs.
Previously, he was acting vice president for student affairs and director of housing and residence life at the campus.
Before joining Pitt-Johnstown, Wescott was assistant director of residence life at the University of Maryland Baltimore County; director of residential life and residence director at Lebanon Valley College; and residence education coordinator at Longwood University, Farmville, Va.
“We are extremely excited that Jon has joined our Student Affairs leadership team,” said Elliott Strickland, chief student affairs officer.
“He brings a wealth of experience to the college in residence life and Student Affairs, and we are excited at the direction he will be taking our programs and services to students.”
Wescott holds a master of science in counseling/student personnel from Shippensburg University and a bachelor of arts in history with a minor in American studies from Lebanon Valley College.
He is a doctoral candidate in administration and leadership studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
His professional affiliations include the American College Personnel Association, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Association of College and University Housing Officers International, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia National Music Fraternity and Project Adventure.
He also serves as vice president of the board of directors of Westmont Family Counseling Ministries.
