FBLA attends State Leadership Conference

JERSEY?SHORE – On Nov. 10 and 11, the Jersey Shore Area High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) officer team attended the PA FBLA State Leadership Workshop (SLW) at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

The SLW included workshops focusing on leadership, business, technology and other valuable career skills and also aimed to provide FBLA members with ideas to improve their own chapters.

Students attended workshops such as “Girls Lead!” led by former Miss Virginia, Julie Carter. The officer team participated in a demonstration by Earl Springer, the creator of the Sheetz MTO, on the success of the Sheetz Corporation.

Former Shark Tank winner and entrepreneur Jason Lucash also spoke about his experiences running his own startup company.

One student, Gabrielle Antonicelli, who competed at nationals this summer in impromptu speaking, participated in running a workshop by speaking on preparing for FBLA competition on the national level.

Students also participated alongside students from Loyalsock Township High School in the SLW Dodgeball Tournament which served as a fundraiser for the FBLA State Project, Donate Life PA.
