LHU to hold pottery sale

Lock Haven University’s 13th annual student pottery sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Art professor Vance McCoy’s students have created 100’s of wheel-thrown and glazed stoneware items that will be available for purchase in LHU’s Art Annex building located on Railroad Street between the Student Recreation Center and the Health Professions Building.

Items for sale include mugs, large and small bowls, a variety of vases, and lidded containers.

To prepare their pieces for the second kiln firing, the students gathered around the work table to dip the bisque-ware into glaze.

Joining this year’s sale LHU alumnus and local potter Rebecca Forbes will showcase a selection of her works that will be offered for purchase.

Pottery sale proceeds are shared between the student that created the piece and a local non-profit organization, Clinton County HELP for Pets, www.help4petspa.org.

Convenient parking is provided off of Railroad Street and adjacent to the L.H.U. Art Annex and The Health Professions Building.
