Local student part of recognized ambassadors group

INDIANA, Pa. – Julie Kilgus, a Northumberland County student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is a member of a student group recently recognized by the IUP Council of Trustees for 20 years of service to the university.

The IUP Ambassadors student group assists the Office of Alumni Relations with events and serves as a link between prospective students, current students, faculty members and alumni. Students must be nominated and selected to become one of the group’s 50 members.

Kilgus, daughter of Bob and Sue Kilgus, is a graduate of Warrior Run High School. A hospitality management major, she is a dean’s list student and recipient of the Norman E. Gresley Scholarship. Kilgus is a member of the Association of Hospitality Management Students, Club Managers Association of America, IUP Outing Club, IUP Hawk Rock 24 hour dance-a-thon and The Entertainment Network, for which she is contemporary entertainment chair.

Throughout the year, the IUP Ambassadors student group works on fundraisers for university projects, a children’s event, the Young Alumni Achievement Awards program, admissions recruitment, alumni reunions and other projects.
