Jersey Shore FBLA celebrates FBLA-PBL week

JERSEY SHORE – Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students at Jersey Shore Area High School will join more than 6,000 chapters nationwide to celebrate national FBLA-PBL (Phi Beta Lambda) Week, Feb. 9 through 15.

The activities planned over this week will focus on the words surrounding the FBLA-PBL crest: Service, Education, and Progress. Among the special activities scheduled are:

Monday – FBLA Celebration and T-Shirt Day.

In order to kickstart the week, we are beginning with FBLA celebration and T-shirt Day to encourage member participation throughout the week. Members who wear a FBLA T-shirt will have the chance to win a $15 cinema card and a $5 bracelet. Members also will receive a Dilly Bar.

Tuesday – Professional Dress Day.

All FBLA members are encouraged to dress up for Professional Dress Day to encourage professional etiquette amongs members. Participating members will visit with Mrs. Oden or Mrs. Zimmerman and will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Sheetz gift card.

Wednesday – Adviser Appreciation Day.

Everyone taking the FBLA class and any other interested members will fill out an index card thanking an adviser for their contribution to FBLA. Advisers will receive these thank you notes as well as a coffee mug full of candy as a token of appreciation for their involvement in FBLA.

Thursday – Member Appreciation Day.

All active FBLA members will receive a custom Jersey Shore FBLA chocolate bar to show appreciation for their involvement. Members are also invited to answer a question about FBLA for a chance to win a $15 cinema card.

FBLA-PBL Week falls within National Career and Technical Education Month, which highlights the impact of career and technical education (CTE) on student success, workforce development, and the economy.

Jersey Shore Senior High School FBLA was founded in 1955 by Ruth Robison. Since then, our FBLA club has grown in both membership and involvement. JS FBLA boasts several regional level “Outstanding Chapter” awards and consistently sends members to both state and national level competitions. The 2013-14 FBLA chapter has 103 members in grades 9 through 12.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) student business organization with nearly a quarter million members and advisers in 6,000 chartered high school and college chapters worldwide.
