Jersey Shore Lions Club names Citizen of the Month

The Jersey Shore Lions’ Club Citizen of the Month for January is Spencer James Ross, son of Adam and Kristi Ross, of Jersey Shore.

Ross’s activities include mock trial, concert band, marching band, chorus, golf, “Paw Print,” Future Business Leaders of America, Technology Student Association, model U.N., Constitutional Convention and Gene Yaw Student Government Seminar.

Ross served one year as equipment manager for the marching band. He has served as secretary and president for Constitutional Convention; secretary, treasurer and vice president for TSA; and president of Model U.N. and ninth grade FBLA.

Outside of school, Ross is active in youth fellowship at his church.

Ross was chosen as the 2013 Town Crier for the annual Jersey Shore Town Meeting. His efforts in Constitutional Convention have earned two best delegate awards and a best parliamentarian award. He has two top 10 finishes at the TSA state competition.

Ross enjoys fishing, reading, running, swimming, playing golf, card games, board games and learning about politics and history. Following graduation, he plans to attend the Air Force and major in history.

Following his career in the Air Force, he plans to seek elected office.
