Bucknell SBDC to hold ‘ACA and small business’ workshop

DANVILLE – The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will host the workshop, “The Affordable Care Act and Your Small Business,” from 10 a.m. to noon March 18 at the Service 1st Federal Credit Union Corporate Center, 1419 Montour Blvd.

The workshop, aimed at owners of business with 50 or fewer employers, will explore how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will impact small businesses.

Topics to be discussed include what small-business owners are required to do, what kind of paperwork is involved, if there are tax credits available, how the ACA will affect patient care, and descriptions of the SHOP and the MarketPlace.

Investment adviser representative Michael Alfonso, founder of Trilogy Group Benefits in Elizabethtown, and Rob Berger will lead the workshop. The focus of the company is based on service, strategies and solutions regarding all aspects of corporate benefits.

There is a cost to register for the workshop; veterans and students may attend at no cost.
