Women’s Club names Girl of the Month
The Business and Professional Women’s Club Girl of the Month for March is Grace Kaimiloa Naehu, daughter of Cynthia Shilling, of Avis.
Naehu’s activities include prom committee, Relay For Life, Outdoor Club, homecoming committee, Upward Bound and class committee and she has been a member of the tennis, soccer, basketball and track and field teams.
Naehu has been the class of 2014 president for four years and is captain for both the varsity girls’ soccer and basketball teams. Outside of school, Naehu is a Young Women’s Vice District Leader for Williamsport in her Soka Gakkai International Buddhist group. She also has held part-time positions in landscaping and yard work.
She has completed beginners and advanced athletic training camps and has earned four varsity letters in track and field and three in basketball. This year, she was chosen as an all-star player for the 2013 Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech basketball tournament. She also previously has been selected as a student of the month by the Jersey Shore Lions Club.
Naehu enjoys riding her bike to new places, going on new adventures and staying active through sports participation. She plans to attend Ithaca College in New York to major in athletic training. While in school, she plans to compete on the club rugby team as well as to try out for varsity sports teams.
