BU’s Quest offers summer camps

BLOOMSBURG – Registrations are being accepted for Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Quest Adventure Camps for children 8- to 13-years-old and the Leader-in-Training Program for 14- to 17-year-olds.

Quest’s Adventure Camps program is designed to keep children active and outdoors as much as possible as they participate in a range of activities from water rafting and hiking to zip-lining and various teambuilding activities. Adventure Camps are offered for eight weeks, from June 16 to Aug. 22. There is a cost for the first week enrolled, with a discount for each additional week. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The Leader-in-Training (LIT) program, returning for its third year, focuses on leadership development through involvement with younger children as assistants to the Adventure Camps staff. The LIT program is an overnight weekend training experience from 9 a.m. June 7 to 5 p.m. June 8. At the conclusion of the LIT weekend training, trainees are selected, based upon maturity and responsibility, to assist in Adventure Camps. This program is an application-based process to be completed by the student. There is a cost for the weekend-long session and, if selected, the student will work as a volunteer during an Adventure Camps session.

All registration forms are available for download at quest.bloomu.edu. Contact the Quest office for more information at quest@bloomu.edu or 570-389-2043.
