Lycoming holds leadership and service awards banquet
Lycoming College recognized co-curricular student achievement on campus during its eighth annual leadership and service awards banquet in April.
The Seuren Leadership Speaker Series address was given by Ronald Frick, a 1983 Lycoming graduate and vice president of M&T Bank.
Andrea Seuren, a 1976 Lycoming graduate, established the speaker series in 2007 in memory of her parents. The series’ purpose is to build a culture of leadership at the college that espouses service, ethics and critical thinking.
Award winners were Woody Rittmiller, intramural male athlete of the year; Molly Russell, intramural female athlete of the year; Todd Hartsock – Phi Kappa Psi, intrafraternity council spirit award; Brian Gordon – Phi Kappa Psi, intrafraternity council service award; Pierce Lawver – Phi Kappa Psi, intrafraternity council scholar award; Mallory Kern – Gamma Delta Sigma, Panhellenic council spirit award; Katy Wrona – Alpha Xi Delta, Panhellenic council service award; Megan Smith – Alpha Xi Delta, Panhellenic council scholar award; Michael Tusay – Tau Kappa Epsilon, intrafraternity council man of the year; Elizabeth Perez – Alpha Xi Delta, Panhellenic council woman of the year; Lisa Mendler – Gamma Delta Sigma, fraternity/sorority adviser of the year; Tau Kappa Epsilon, chapter of the year; International Dinner – Multicultural Awareness Group, outstanding program of the year; Kate Heiser – Gender and Sexuality Alliance, student organization adviser of the year; Alpha Xi Delta, student organization of the year; Megan Cunningham, outstanding student leader; Food Recovery Network – Sustainability Committee, outstanding community service program; Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Tau Kappa Epsilon, outstanding community service fundraising event; L.A.C.E.S. – Lycoming’s chapter of Advancing Communities by Educating and Serving, outstanding community service organization; Briana Wingrove and Megan Cox, volunteers of the year.
