Foundation holiday essay contest winners announced
The Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation recently concluded its annual Holiday Essay Contest, during which students in kindergarten through sixth grade were asked to answer, in 200 words or less: “If you could wish for just one thing this holiday season, what would it be? Why? What would it mean to you?”
From a pool of more than 180 entries, the top 25 winners were selected and received a free ride on the Polar Express recently, thanks to the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to the train ride, two top essay winners were selected. Lynnae Campbell and Breagin Buxton, a kindergarten and fifth-grade student at Cochran Primary School and Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, respectively, each received a gift card to the Cinema Center, sponsored by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
The WASD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for students by funding projects, programs and initiatives.
