Area Students of the Month


Brandon Joseph Michael Ranck, son of Donald Ranck, of Jersey Shore, has been named The Jersey Shore Lions’ Club Citizen of the Month for October.

He has served as vice president of his class, captain of his Relay For Life team, student school board representative for the Jersey Shore Area School District is the editor in chief of the school newspaper the PawPrint and was a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions.

As a participant in Relay For Life, Ranck earned the Youth Leadership Award and was nominated as youth representative and corporate sponsorship lead. In addition, he has received a letter of recognition from the Pennsylvania Governor.

Following graduation, Ranck plans to attend Mansfield University and major in business administration with dual concentrations in management and corporate finance.


Haylee Jean Fishel, daughter of Lori and Bill, of Cogan Station, has been named The Business and Professional Women’s Club Girl of the Month for October.

Fishel has served as treasurer of Bible Club for two years, secretary of choir/musical for three years, secretary of Bible Club for one year and president of Spanish National Honor Society for one year. She also is a 4-H member and serves as vice president of her club.

Fishel was a state qualifier for Future Business Leaders of America and is a member of National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. She also has been nominated for the Lioness Student of the Month recognition award and was the student leader of her youth group. Fishel has lettered in choir and is a regular member of the distinguished honor roll.

Following graduation, Fishel would like to enter a profession that will allow her to serve people and make a difference.


Madeline G. Beyer, daughter of Debra and Mark Beyer, has been named Outstanding Senior for the month of September at Warrior Run High School.

She is the vice president of National Honor Society, president of Concert Choir, a member Principal’s Cabinet, Student School Board Representative and participates in school musicals and drama play productions. Beyer is a member of the soccer, basketball and softball teams.

She has recieved the George Eastman Young Leaders Award, the Spanish Award and has been a member of the distingushed honor roll.

Following graduation, Beyers plans to attend a four-year college.


Garrett D. Ruch, son of Julie and Paul Ruch, has been named Turbotville Lions Club Student of the Month for September at Warrior Run High School.

Ruch is a member National Honor Society and the football team. He also is a Boy Scout, in which he has achieved the Eagle Scout rank.

Following graduation, he plans to attend Grove City College and major in mechanical engineering.


Rachel M. Ritner, daughter of Dianne and Russell Ritner, has been named Watsontown Lions Club Student of the Month for Septmber at Warrior Run High School. Ritner is involved in Robotics Club, Technology Student Association, drama play, is a Special Education Field Day Helper and is a member of the field hockey team.

She is a Defender PRIDE recipient, has been a member of the honor roll and also won fifth place robot at Rage in the Cage.

Following graduation, Ritner plans to become an EMT and also attend a four-year college for nursing and continue schooling at a medical school to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner or physician.


Isaac A. Miller, son of Jan and Dale Miller, has been named Milton Rotary Club Student of the Month for September at Warrior Run High School. He is involved in track and field and pole-vaulting, is a Defender PRIDE recipient and has been a member of the honor roll.

Following graduation, he might like to attend college or aviation school or join the Coast Guard.


Nash Dawson, son of Jodi and Mark Dawson, has been named Student of the Month for September at Montourville Area High School.

He has served as president and treasurer of Thespian Socety, president and librarian of choir and president and drum major of band.

Following graduation, he will attend college as a music theater major and plans to perform professionally.


Caroline Hernandez, daughter of Marta and Carlos Hernandez, has been named Student of the Month for September at Montoursville Area High School.

She has served as president of Key Club and National Spanish Honor Society and secretary of her class. She also has been involved with Rho Kappa, National Art Honor Society, Spanish Club, National English Honor Society and has been a member of the track and tennis teams.

Following graduation, she plans to attend college and major in pre-medicine and plans to become a veterinarian.
