New member appointed to Penn College Board of Directors

Michael DiRaimo, who retired last year as Penn State’s vice president for government and community relations, has been named to the Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors.

DiRaimo was appointed to the 11-member board by The Corporation for Penn State; Penn College is a special mission affiliate of Penn State. He succeeds Robert A. Secor, who retired from the Penn College Board in December after nearly two decades of service.

“Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and a different perspective to our board,” President Davie Jane Gilmour said. “I very much look forward to working with him in this new role at Penn College.”

At Penn State, DiRaimo led the Government Relations Office from 2012 until his retirement. He served as the university’s director of state relations prior to that.

He has also served as a researcher and legislative assistant to the late James J. Manderino, a former Majority Leader and Speaker of the House in the state Legislature. Subsequent to that, DiRaimo served as the state and federal liaison for Pittsburgh public schools.

DiRaimo earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in history, both from Penn State.
