Hope Wilkinson named American Legion Oratorical winner

Hope Wilkinson was named the American Legion Oratorical winner from 16th District, which encompasses the legions in Clinton, Lycoming, Potter and Tioga counties. Wilkinson, the daughter of Tonya and Tim Wilkinson, is a senior at Wellsboro Area High School and is planning to attend Boston University to major in international relations and Spanish.

She has competed the last four years in the American Legion Oratorical competitions and has won $10,400 from the local level at W. Earle Champaign American Legion Post No. 84, of Wellsboro, through District 16, Inter District, Central Section and Department of Pennsylvania.

Oratorical Competitions for high school students are held every year to benefit Children and Youth.
