Penn College to offer computer courses for beginners

Adults who want to learn more about using today’s technology may enroll in introductory courses to be taught in July at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s main campus.

The classes, offered through Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Penn College, require little or no previous computer knowledge. There is a cost for both classes.

• A Beginner’s Guide to Creating a Website or Blog class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on July 10 and 17. This class is designed for those new to creating websites and blogs, whether for personal or business use. Learn how to create your website and customize its design without needing to be a programmer. Participants should have basic computer skills, as well as proficiency using a mouse.

• A beginner’s guide to computers and Microsoft Office class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 27. This is a fun course that introduces use of the computer to create correspondence, basic financial spreadsheets and presentations. The instructor will lead participants through creating basic files using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The class is paced for the novice and includes time for questions and answers in a stress-free environment.
