Bloomsburg University students receive Army ROTC scholarship

BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s ROTC Military Initiatives Scholarship Committee awarded eight Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) students the Army ROTC Scholarship at the annual welcome lunch for new and returning military students on Feb. 6.

The 2018 recipients are Jovan Garrison, Williamsport; Jacob Coombe, Bloomsburg; Deanna Lupia, Reading; Bailey Rohrer, Williamsport; Luke Shriver, Winchester, Va.; and Megan Peck, Lehighton from Army ROTC; and Colin Calpin, Schnecksville, and Brandon Webber, Wapwallopen, from the Air Force ROTC.

The ROTC Military Initiatives Scholarship Committee selected the 2018 recipients for the $1,250 scholarship based on their grade point average, physical fitness score, ROTC involvement, leadership evaluation, branch height and weight compliance and standing in the ROTC program.
