Variety of noncredit Adobe classes to be held at Penn College

Three classes covering a variety of creative tools in the Adobe family of software applications will be offered in March by Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

The courses are taught by qualified instructors in a relaxed classroom environment, allowing participants to learn, experiment and ask questions. Courses are hands-on, with each participant working at a computer station.

Adobe course offerings this spring include:

• Illustrator: Level 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 7. Learn to create complex and attractive illustrations and type effects. Topics include drawing and manipulating simple shapes to create logos, and combining text and graphics to create advertisements.

• Photoshop — 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, March 27 to April 24. Learn to use the powerful tools of Photoshop. Topics include selecting parts of images, creating layers, applying layer effects and using filters. Additional topics include using painting tools and blending modes to create shading effects, and performing adjustments to contrast and color balance.

• InDesign: Level 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28. Work with tools that help you create eye-catching printed documents and brochures. Topics include managing the InDesign environment, designing and enhancing documents, adding tables, and finalizing documents.
