GRE testing available at Lock Haven University

LOCK HAVEN — Educational Testing Services (ETS) has approved Lock Haven University Testing Center the addition of Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Tests. The next testing session will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Lock Haven University Testing Center.

Other dates the test will be administered throughout the semester include 4 p.m. May 16 and 4 p.m. June 15.

Montgomery High School presents “Into the Woods”

Virtuoso, the Montgomery High School music and theatre ensemble, will present their spring musical, “Into the Woods,” at 7 p.m. April 27 and 28, and 2 p.m. April 29 in the high school auditorium.

With music by Stephen Sondheim and story collaboration with James Lapine, this operetta intertwines several beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales in a modern way. Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel find themselves helping a baker and his wife on their quest for a child. All of the characters simultaneously pursue their own wishes.

Discounts are available for students and senior citizens, 65 and older.

Mansfield University to celebrate Alumni Weekend

MANSFIELD — Mansfield University’s will celebrate alumni weekend from June 7-10.

The Delta Zeta alumni group will host the event on June 7, at the Water Tower. The outdoor welcome event is open to all alumni and registration is required. This year, the class of 1968, celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the 2018 Society of Honors recipients will be recognized during a special alumni luncheon. Linda (Etter) Long ’65 will be the featured alumni speaker.

The no-cost features include multiple yoga sessions, financial planning and retirement sessions, networking events, trivia, a choir alumni performance, vow renewals, a wild edible and medicinal plant identification hike (guided), a tent/dance party, career paths and college admission preparations, a healing session, an in memoriam luminaire display, health and nutrition sessions, a discussion of a possible alumni trip to Belize, an I-99 business park showing and more.

In addition, low-cost program features include a 5K walk-run, an alumni golf tournament, a welcome dinner gathering, and a land and sea dinner social. Two local breweries, Yorkholo and Blue Stone, as well as My Brothers BBQ, will be on-site during the tent party.

Several MU professors will facilitate sessions during the Alumni Weekend festivities as well.
