LHU hosts ‘Art and All that Jazz’ reception during LH JAMS festival

LOCK HAVEN — The third annual Lock Haven Jazz and Art on Main Street (LH JAMS) festival kicked off on Aug. 17 with the “Art and All That Jazz” reception at the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center (DACC) on the campus of Lock Haven University.

The evening included a swing performance by Nancy and Spencer Reed and Friends, along with food, drinks and a silent auction of artwork, jewelry and other hand-crafted items. Gift certificates from Stella A’s were awarded to the best male and best female jazz outfits. Winners, Mitzi Gallagher and Joel Long, were chosen by judges Jeff Miller and Kasey Blesh.

The reception is a partnership between the LH JAMS festival, LHU and the CCAC. All money raised during the event will support future festivals.

Others involved in planning the festival and reception include: Mary Coploff and Deb Parsons, reception co-chairs; Eddie Severn, festival creative director; and Carol Ann Cillo, CCAC board president
