SGA participates in Relay For Life

Williamsport Area High School’s Student Government Association (SGA) prepared to participate in this year’s Relay for Life of River Valley that took place at the Williamsport Area High School recently.

Relay for Life is an overnight community event that takes place annually in May to raise money for cancer research. There are food vendors and fun activities for participants. Williamsport SGA’s goal this year was to raise over $1,000 and have a member walking the track at all times.

Mackenzie Benner, junior, was excited to participate in her second year of Relay.

“I love walking around the track as much as I can and hanging out with other members in SGA,” Benner said.

Christina McMahon also was excited to participate in Relay For Life for her third year with SGA.

“It is a lot of work to prepare for and it can be tiring, but all of it is worth it because you know it is for a great cause,” McMahon said.
