YWCA to hold summer camp

At the YWCA Northcentral PA’s Camp Honor students will focus on empowerment and respect this summer.

Registration is open for 25 sixth to ninth grade students for a free two-week camp from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 17 to 20 and 24 to 27 at 10 a.m. at the YWCA, 815 W. Fourth St.

Students will participate in interactive lessons where they can explore sports, gardening, the arts and STEM.

Alongside every theme they will learn about a person from history or present day who has made a noteworthy contribution to the world.

Lunch will be provided daily. Registration is online at ywcawilliamsport.org.

The goal of Camp Honor is to empower youth to strengthen their level of respect for themselves, their community and each other by honoring the past, present and future.

Together they will expand their knowledge of important issues such as racism, feminism and bullying through daily lessons. Each day the students will go home with a book related to the topic discussed at camp to help them build their own library at home.
