Hughesville and Sullivan County high school students take trip to D.C.

Hughesville Area High School’s Nathaniel Lewis and Sullivan County High School’s Noah Phillips and Samantha Skoranski attended Youth Tour visited Washington, D.C. for a fun-filled trip full of learning.

More than 1,800 of rural American high school juniors got to interact with their elected officials while getting an understanding of the political process and American history.

In addition to meeting with their elected officials, students went to the Holocaust Museum, Pentagon Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Newseum, Smithsonian, Mount Vernon, Udvar-Hazy Space Center and the Washington Zoo.

If you will be a junior in high school next year and your parents are members of Sullivan County Rural Electric, watch for the January 2020 issue of Penn Lines for more information.
