Volunteers needed for Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Individuals from Clinton and Lycoming counties who are interested in joining a ‘Walk to End Alzheimer’s’ may attend a kickoff event from 4:30 to 6 p.m. May 2 at The Elder and Special Needs Resource Center, 401 Washington Blvd.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater Pennsylvania Chapter is looking for individuals, organizations and companies who want to form ‘Walk to End Alzheimer’s’ teams, as well as serve as committee members and day-of-event volunteers.

Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. It is the only cause of death among the top 10 that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed. Someone develops it every 68 seconds.
