Evangelical Hospice plans flea market
LEWISBURG – Evangelical Hospice will hold its annual flea market from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Faith Lutheran Church on Route 45, just west of here.
Donations only may be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church. No large furniture, encyclopedias or broken items will be accepted.

Run to benefit spinal cord research
A 5K/10K run walk, Strides for Spinal Cord Injury Research, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Indian Park in Montoursville. Registration begins at 8.
All money raised will be donated to the Reeve-Irvine Research Center and Research For a Cure. The center is named after Christopher Reeve and his family and its goal is to cure paralysis after a spinal cord injury.
Williamsport resident Jay Harner said he is organizing the event because he had an injury that left him a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the chest down.

Comprehensive blood screening offered
Community Health Education at Evangelical Community Hospital will hold a comprehensive blood screen from 7 to 10 a.m. June 12 at Elmcroft of Loyalsock in Montoursville.
The $30 fee includes a lipid panel, complete blood count and CMP. Appointments are required by calling Community Health and Wellness at 768-3200.
Cold, sore legs? Attend this screening
LEWISBURG – Community Health Education at Evangelical Community Hospital will hold a free screening program for people who are concerned they may be at risk for peripheral vascular disease.
The Healthy Legs for Living program, formerly Legs for Life, will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. June 19 at the Community Health and Wellness Center.

Evangelical plans 27th Golf Classic
LEWISBURG – Evangelical Community Hospital will hold its 27th Golf Classic event on Aug. 16 at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Shotgun starts are available at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
This year’s event features on-the-course contests and a chance to win a 2014 Ford Mustang from Selinsgrove Ford with a hole-in-one on the course. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
MDA plans annual Muscle Walk
The Muscular Dystrophy Association will hold its annual Muscle Walk on Sept. 8 at Total Sports & Activity Center, 310 Elmira St.
The event is designed to help raise money for local children and adults affected by muscular dystrophy. It’s a non-competitive walk that may be done in groups with a team leader, or as a single walker.
