Hospital sells jewelry for auxiliary fundraiser
WELLSBORO – Stunning jewelry will be sold this week at special, discounted vendor pricing at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s masquerade jewelry sale.
The two-day event will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital conference room.
Many great items are available for as low as $5, and funds raised benefit the hospital auxiliary.

Comprehensive blood screening offered
Community Health Education at Evangelical Community Hospital will hold a comprehensive blood screen from 7 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elmcroft of Loyalsock in Montoursville.
A comprehensive blood screening can provide important details about your health, sometimes before symptoms of a condition surface, giving you and your physicians the power to plan ahead. The $30 fee includes a lipid panel (HDL, LDL, total cholesterol and triglycerides), complete blood count and CMP (blood sugar, electrolytes, calcium, protein, liver enzymes, etc.).

Register now for Ta-Ta Trot discount, T-shirt
SUNBURY – People who register by Thursday for the fourth annual Ta-Ta Trot, a 5K run/walk that will be held on July 13, will receive a T-shirt and a discount on the registration fee.
The event benefits the Geisinger Marie Lamey Fund and Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. It will be held during the Sunbury Celebration on North Fourth Street (next to the YMCA).
Other features that day include a live radio broadcast with Y106.5 starting at 7 a.m.; speakers from Geisinger and the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition; and door prizes for participants.
Prizes will be awarded in several categories.

Cold, sore legs? Attend this screening
LEWISBURG – Community Health Education at Evangelical Community Hospital will hold a free screening program for people who are concerned they may be at risk for peripheral vascular disease.
Common symptoms are aching, tiredness or cramping in the legs, numbness, tingling or coldness, or foot sores that don’t heal.
The Healthy Legs for Living program, formerly Legs for Life, will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. June 19 at the Community Health and Wellness Center.

Bloodmobile comes to city
A bloodmobile will be at the Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St., in the city, from noon to 6 p.m. June 25.
Evangelical plans for 27th Golf Classic
LEWISBURG – Evangelical Community Hospital will hold its 27th Golf Classic on Aug. 16 at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Shotgun starts are available at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Entry fee for each golfer is $125 and includes green fees, golf cart, buffet lunch and refreshments on the course. A light breakfast and dinner also will be provided.
This year’s event features on-the-course contests and a chance to win a 2014 Ford Mustang from Selinsgrove Ford with a hole-in-one on the course. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Held annually, the event raises funds for Pre-Hospital Services, life-sustaining treatments performed by trained paramedics at the scene of an emergency. Paramedics also provide vital patient information to Emergency Department personnel before the patient arrives at the ER doors.

MDA plans annual Muscle Walk
The Muscular Dystrophy Association of Scranton will hold its annual Muscle Walk on Sept. 8 at Total Sports & Activity Center, 310 Elmira St., Williamsport.
The event is designed to help raise money for local children and adults affected by muscular dystrophy. It’s a non-competitive walk that either can be done in groups with a team leader, or as a single walker.
