26th ‘Lights of Love’ ceremony held

LEWISBURG – Evangelical Community Hospital, under the leadership and direction of its auxiliary, hosted ithe 26th Lights of Love ceremony on Dec. 1 in the hospital’s dining room.

The celebration included entertainment by the Buffalo Valley Singers and concluded with the lighting of the Lights of Love tree outside the main entrance of the hospital.

Lights of Love offers an opportunity to honor and remember family, friends, and loved ones by placing a light on a holiday tree which will continue to shine throughout the month of December.

Each honoree is listed in a special book located in the Jay P. Mathias Lobby of the hospital and a card is sent to honorees or their families telling them of the special gift.

All proceeds benefit Evangelical Hospice, a service that provides care and support to terminally ill patients and their families.

So far this year, the Lights of Love event has raised over $23,000 for Evangelical Hospice with monetary donations being accepted until Dec. 31. To make a gift to support Evangelical Hospice and honor and memorialize loved ones by placing a light on the living tree, call the hospital’s development office at 570-522-2685.
