Visitor restrictions in place at Jersey Shore Hospital

The state Department of Health recently increased the Flu Activity Code to the highest level across the state.

Because of the high level of concern, Jersey Shore Hospital is limiting visitor access during the flu season and asking that only immediate family visit inpatients.

It also requests that adolescents under age 18 not visit inpatients. The age restriction is in place because children have a much higher rate of exposure to the flu.

In addition, any patient, visitor, or staff member with a cough or sore throat is required to wear a mask.

Masks and hand sanitizer are readily available at hospital entrances. Hand sanitizer also is available in each inpatient room.
