Hospital names new pharmacy director

JERSEY SHORE- Jersey Shore Hospital is pleased to announce a new Director of Pharmacy, Arleen Kessler.

Arleen Kessler graduated from St. John’s University in New York City in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.

From there, Kessler received her MBA in 1998 from the University of New Haven, and then received her PharmD degree from the University of Colorado in 2009.

Previously Arleen Kessler was the Operations Manager at A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children, Del., where she practiced for over seven years. Before that, Kessler was the director of pharmacy at Memorial Hospital of Salem County in southern New Jersey.

With extensive experience overseeing all aspects of pharmacy services, Kessler makes a great addition to the Jersey Shore Hospital family.

In addition, Kessler also has widespread knowledge of pain management and home health care, and has already been a great asset with the hospital’s continual improvement of patient safety.

“As the director of pharmacy, I’m responsible for monitoring standards of quality, productivity, and performance in accordance with the hospital policy and state and federal regulatory agencies,” said Kessler.

Hospital CEO Dave Shannon confirms that Kessler is a great addition to the Jersey Shore Hospital family. “Arleen believes strongly in patient safety and quality, which is a priority at our facility,” he said.
