Evangelical’s 29th annual Lights of Love tree lighting held

LEWISBURG — Evangelical Community Hospital and its auxiliary hosted the 29th annual Lights of Love Ceremony on Dec. 4.

The celebration included entertainment by the Buffalo Valley Singers, and new this year, the lighting of the memorial garden and the facade of the hospital, according to a news release from Evangelical.

Lights of Love offers an opportunity to honor and remember family, friends and loved ones by lighting the hospital’s memorial garden, which will continue to shine throughout the month of December.

Each honoree is listed in a special book located in the Degenstein Pavilion of the hospital and a notification is sent to honorees or their families telling them of the special gift.

All proceeds benefit Hospice of Evangelical, a service that provides end-of-life care and support to patients and their families.

According to the news release, so far this year, the Lights of Love event has raised nearly $27,000 for Hospice of Evangelical with monetary donations being accepted until Dec. 31.

To make a gift to support Hospice of Evangelical and honor and memorialize loved ones, call the Development Office at 570-522-2685.

The 2016 Lights of Love honorary chairperson for this year’s event was Sue Satteson, daughter of William and Betty Diggan, both past Hospice of Evangelical care recipients.
