UPMC Susquehanna palliative care honored

Bringing innovation, integrity and compassion to end-of-life care, hospice and palliative care programs honored with the American Hospital Association’s Circle of LifeAward are distinguished as the best in the nation.

Each year, AHA recognizes only three programs nationwide that have made great strides in expanding the reach of end-of-life care.

This year, Susquehanna Health, now UPMC Susquehanna, was chosen as one of the three national honorees for its hospice and palliative care program, recognized alongside Bon Secours Palliative Medicine in Richmond, Virginia, and Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence in Seattle, Washington, according to a news release from UPMC Susquehanna.

Following the national presentation in San Diego this July, members of the AHA recently held an official ceremony onsite at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
