Annual blood drive is set for Sunday

The fifth annual “In Memory of Greyson Blood Drive” will be held 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Zafar Grotto Rafaz Club, 381 E. Second Ave., South Williamsport.

Donors can bring along a children’s book for donation to the James V. Brown Library to honor the memory of Greyson Allen.

Prepared childbirth classes:

• Prepared childbirth refresher class: Dates are not pre-determined; call the Community Health and Wellness Center at 570-786-3200 to schedule your class.

Registration fee. Designed to refresh parents on the basics of childbirth.

• Prenatal breastfeeding: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Community Health and Wellness Center. Fee per couple. For the expectant mother and one support person. The course covers the advantages of breastfeeding and the common concerns associated with it.

• Prepared childbirth class: Thursdays, March 23- April 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Community Health and Wellness Center. Fee per couple. The course guides parents and support persons through childbirth, including labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation. Class runs for four consecutive weeks.

CPR classes:

• Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED Skills Check Class: 12:30 p.m. Friday, at the Community Health and Wellness Center. Designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for first aid, CPR, and AED training. It’s intended for anyone with little to no medical training in need of a course completion card. Participants must complete the online portion through the AHA website before taking this class. Fee with registration is required; call 570-768-3200 or register online.

• HeartCode BLS Skills Check Class: 8:30 a.m. Friday, at the Community Health and Wellness Center. For health-care professionals seeking an alternative method for completing an initial or renewal course and have completed the online portion through the American Heart Association website. • Why Weight: 6-7:15 p.m. April 5, at the Community Health and Wellness Center. A six-week weight management program led by a certified health coach and registered dietitian. Topics to be covered include healthy meal planning, exercise and behavior modification strategies designed to facilitate lifestyle change and gradual lasting weight loss.
