Md. resort named in magazine’s list of best golf courses
CUMBERLAND, Md. – Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort announced last week that its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course was included in GolfWeek magazine’s list of the best courses to play in Maryland.
The 18-hole, 7,000-yard course is nestled in the foothills of Rocky Gap State Park and offers scenic vistas of Lake Habeeb.
The golf course opens for the season on Monday. Tee times may be reserved by calling 301-784-8500 or online at www.rockygapresort.com.
“We continually strive to ensure that the course is maintained to the highest standards and are thrilled to be recognized by GolfWeek as one Maryland’s best golf courses,” said Rick Flowers, PGA head golf professional at the resort.
The par-72 course ranges from gently rolling expansive fairways to rugged terrain surrounded by woods and has five tee box options per hole, allowing golfers to play at their own skill level. Practice areas include a 50-spot driving range, two large putting greens, two chipping areas and a practice bunker.
