Ruffed Grouse Society plans fundraiser shoot

SPRINGVILLE – The Ruffed Grouse Society will hold a Northeast Pennsylvania Spring Break Habitat shoot on May 5 at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays, 674 Leon Mitchell Road.

The event is limited to 100 shooters, who must bring shells and eye and ear protection.

Registration prior to May 1 includes a discount. Shooters may register as individuals or four-person teams.

Each shooter will receive 100 sporting clays and a steak lunch. A free box of shells will be given to each shooter under age 18.

Warm-ups for the five-stand shoot begins at 9 a.m. Registration is at 9:30, followed by a shotgun start at 10.

Trophies will be awarded to the high overall, second and third-place finishers, plus ladies and junior.

All proceeds benefit local grouse and woodcock habitat improvement.
