Slate Run Ramble set for next Sunday
SLATE RUN – Bob Webber will lead the spring Slate Run Ramble in Tiadaghton State Forest on June 15. Those interested in attending should arrive at the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ parking lot before 10 a.m.
The hike begins at that time and continues into the afternoon.
The length of the hike will vary depending on the route, but it typically ranges between 8 and 12 miles.
The route will include the Naval Run Trail, the Gas Line Trail, portions of the Black Forest Trail, the horse path and Gerald Hollow trail.
Due to the steep terrain in the Pine Creek Valley, the hike is considered strenuous and difficult.
