Man waives hearing on assault charges

A man who allegedly dragged his pregnant girlfriend off the bed by her feet, causing her to hit her head on the floor, waived a preliminary hearing before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman to Lycoming County Court.

Andrew Thomas Watson, 25, of 412 Charlotte Ave., South Williamsport, allegedly dragged Kelley Woodley off the bed when she was 36 weeks pregnant, according to South Williamsport police.

Watson was arraigned before District Judge James G. Carn on Dec. 20 on charges of simple assault, harassment and reckless endangerment in county court. Watson at the time was incarcerated in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Since then, attorneys in the case agreed to lift a “no contact” provision of bail in order for Watson to see his baby’s birth.
