South Side woman allegedly used neighbor’s bank card

A South Willliamsport woman faces charges for illegally using a neighbor’s bank card that may have been incorrectly mailed to her home, according to court records filed by borough police.

Karen Marie Gair, 56, of 1010 W. Southern Ave., allegedly used neighbor Stephen Willits’ newly issued bank card to make two $100 withdraws from his account on Nov. 8, police said.

Court records did not say how Gair obtained the bank card, but a police affidavit said that just before the theft, Willits was issued a new card that was expected to be mailed to his home.

Gair has been charged with theft, identity theft and illegal use of an access device. She was ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing on Monday and a bench warrant for her arrest was expected to be issued after she failed to appear.
