2 charged with pot possession

ELKLAND – Two people were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police chased them down in the borough.

According to documents filed at District Judge Brian Edgcomb’s office, Jeffrey L. Marsiglio, 58, of 117 S. First St., Knoxville and Charles Potter, 50, of 127A N. Buffalo St. were charged Jan. 4 after police saw them acting “suspiciously” in an alley behind the Beam House.

According to police the pair took off running toward Buffalo Street when they saw the police cruiser. Following them, the officer said he came upon them standing on Buffalo Street smoking what appeared to be “bowls.”

They allegedly tried to get on either side of the officer by moving around a parked car, but he pulled out a stun gun and ordered them to stop.

Marsiglio was allegedly found with a wooden pipe in his possession and a baggie with a large amount of marijuana bud was found in his vehicle along with a small knife with pot residue on it. Potter had a pipe with pot residue in it, police said. Both were issued a summons to appear at a March 14 preliminary hearing.
