Alleged sex crimes fugitive caught

A Lycoming County fugitive wanted after skipping bail in a case of alleged sexual assault against children has been captured, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Jackie Reed, 44, of Cogan Station, was identified and found in the 2000 block of St. Michaels Road near the village on Feb. 28, according to U.S. Marshal Martin J. Payne.

Reed was arrested Nov. 20 by state police on charges he allegedly assaulted children under age 13 multiple times at his house and also watched them shower, Payne said. Reed also was wanted by state police in Milton on alleged fraud-related offenses.

Charged with indecent sexual assault of minors, invasion of privacy, indecent assault and theft by deception, Reed was released after posting $75,000 bail and failing to appear for Lycoming County Court Feb. 5, Payne said.

Reed appeared before county Judge Marc F. Loveechio on Friday and was remanded into custody without bail, Payne said.

The Lycoming County sheriff’s office also assisted in the case.
