Police: Man nabbed on 3rd shoplifting sprint

After twice allegedly fleeing Kohl’s with stolen merchandise in late September, Kevin Michael Saltsman, an admitted heroin addict, was nabbed when he tried to flee the store a third time on the day before Christmas, city police said.

Saltsman, of 1400 High St., first bolted from store at 251 William St. with $475 worth of clothing on Sept. 25, police alleged in court papers. Three days later, he walked in and walked out with $384 worth of merchandise, including clothing and a pair of sneakers, police said.

When he was nabbed on Dec. 24, Saltsman allegedly was trying to steal $252 worth of merchandise. Following his arraignment last week before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on three misdemeanor counts of shoplifting, he was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
